How to update a profile picture?

Why won't Yahoo! Answers let me update my profile picture?

  • Trying to update my profile picture. I go to 'My Activity' then 'Edit My Preferences' then I select the photo I want and click 'Submit' and it's still the ! picture. Help would be appreciated. Thank you :)

    Your issue with the avatar not changing from the exclamation point is due to the fact that your Y! Profile is hidden. All you have to do is unhide your Y! Profile and then you should be able to upload an avatar other than the default exclamation point. Although there has been an issue on the site lately that when people are trying to change their username or avatar on Answers there is often a delay of anywhere from a few minutes up to 24 hours. To unhide your Profile click on My Activity > View Pulse > Settings (gear symbol) > Privacy. http://profile.yahoo.com/y/settings/privacy/ Click the button left of "Your profile is currently hidden". By the way, you can report rude answers that make no real attempt to answer your question.

I'm not sure, I have the same issue and my profile is not hidden. I'm using a new account now - I used to use an account that was registered to my ex and I achieved Level 5 status on there, so I'm more than familiar with this website. On the old account, I could click 'Edit Preferences' and I would be directed to a page where I could actually edit my information. Now, clicking this link does nothing at all. I feel Yahoo has seriously gone downhill lately, all I seem to find are dead links and useless websites, not to mention all these profile areas that just confuse you! I personally feel the site is not functioning correctly.

Because Yahoo Answers don't want people traumatized by your face. LOL "By the way, you can report rude answers that make no real attempt to answer your question." I think she's talking about you Kuin, you better delete your answer before she reports you.

It does that to me also.I think it takes 24 hours to upload.
