How do you use an image to search the Internet?

How do people find Y!A if they can't use an internet search engine?

  • I see a lot of questions that could be answered with a simple internet search. How do people find Y!A if they can't use an internet search engine?

  • Answer:

I never used a search engine to find YA. I noticed the questions at the bottom of home pages of various yahoo groups I visited and clicked in from there. I think as far as people not using the search engines to get answers, well, they likely aren't asking just to learn but usually want to have some perspective of theirs' validated - they want to hear the answer they want to hear and not always the appropriate or correct one.

My web-based e-mail is reached through the Yahoo home page, as is that of many other people. Y!A has been promoted through that quite a lot, so it's not surprising to me that people find it so quickly. However, I suspect that's not really the crux of your question. As for why they don't just use a search engine - maybe they're not that familiar with them. Maybe they'd prefer to have their question specifically answered by a real person. Maybe they're using Y!A in addition to using a search engine. As other have said - it's easier. Call it lazy if you want, but I'd rather not trawl the internet for hours if there's somebody on Y!A that can give me the answer I want with minimal effort. Most of the questions I've asked on here, I could probably have found some form of answer to with an internet search, but then - how much would I have missed? There's usually somebody who knows something that I wouldn't have thought to look for. For instance - I've just asked a question about dog-friendly places to visit in a particular area of the UK. An internet search has given me some ideas, but perhaps there are people on Y!A with local knowledge, who could tell me about places that I've not found on my search. Maybe I'd learn nothing, but then what's it cost me? A minute of my time and 5 "points". Worthwhile if you ask me.

They are lazy, simple as that. :P

The Liberal Mutt

I found it just by checking out the Yahoo! homepage. I wish I found it sooner then I did though... But maybe they want to see if there are more options.

Chuckles

simple: the teeny boppers come for the OMG!Y and accidentally click the wrong button and wind up here. They then find out that there is a host of slaves to do their homework for them and to think for them

Even better yet, why do people ask questions if they can always look for a previous identical question paired with an answer?!? Because they are L-A-Z-Y.

their lazy as crap.
