Who made Yahoo?

Wouldn't it be nice if Yahoo!Answers made available to us who thumbs us up or down, just like ...?

  • who give us stars? We can see that .... It is so frustrating to stare at a thumbs down, especially, and not really know who gave it so you might try to understand what went wrong....and maybe it would discourage wanton pranksters crusing by ... which is what it looks like, very often ... and it would be nice to know who approves of our work and gives us thumbs up, too

    Whats the point in knowing who?,we all know we cannot please everyone.You have to be satisfied with the world as it is me old scots pine,thumbs up or down is not important,it just shows agreement or disagreement with your point of view,but you know that will happen anyway.If these carry identities,then you will have all out wars and tit for tat fights,because people cannot stand criticism.The worst are those who can give it out but not take it back,but life is a two way track.

A good point, but it may cause more hatred than there is already on here..........there are too many trolls who have a rant about other posters and cause friction as it is, if TD posters were shown then all hell would break lose! I personally do not see the point of TD coz you do not show your opinion, whilst TU gives the poster extra point if the answer has been chosen as best! Good point John M!

I used to assume it was the person asking the question who gave a thumbs up or down. Wouldn't it make sense if this was the case.

It would, but that takes more resources to do for EVERY question. Best thing to do when you get a thumbs-down is to just ignore it & go on to the next question. Don't thumbs-down anyone in a blind retaliation because it's often someone who didn't even answer that question .. they just cruised by like you said .. Thumbs-downs don't affect your score anyway, & if you know for yourself that you gave an honest, valid answer, then they shouldn't even matter to you.

Most of the times it is just larrikans. Only care about the thumbs up as for each one on a best answer you get an additional point. (max 50 per Q).

I agree. Either identify the thumbs downers so we can eradicate them...or only show thumbs uppers. This whole thumbs thing is like being a 7 year old again.

yes sometimes i research the topics only to get thumb downs despite many thumbs ups? it drives me nuts! on my first account i was a top contibuter and it was worse a few months ago!
