How can I delete my account from yahoo answers?

  • I think the answers I always get here prove lack of education,gratuity and rude behaviour and a lot of shallow unfair comments.I agree that not all my questions were serious but what a stupidity and superficiality I found here!This community almost disgusts me.

    When it comes to deleting your account, you should know that even if your Answers account is suspended or deleted all of your old Q&A will remain on the site. You cannot delete your Answers account only. Staff can do it if you get many or severe violations, but that is a risky way to go because they can delete your entire Yahoo! account. You can terminate your entire Yahoo! account yourself. Be aware this will permanently remove access from all of your Yahoo! services associated with your account. You can do that with this link: https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_user?.scrumb=hkeXhjxgRXZ but be sure you understand what it is you are losing. You could pretty much end your Answers account though by hiding your Y! Profile, setting your privacy settings to My Contacts Only, removing all contacts and blocking fans, changing your username, disabling email and IM, and then simply don't use the account any more. Remember, whether you do this or terminate your entire account, all of your Q&A will remain on the site.

I completely understand what you mean. I have had several insults on my questions for no reason. I think you will find it anywhere on the internet, it gives people a front where they can say whatever they like and not have it comes back to them. For example my last question asking about mass effect 3 (a game) I mentioned an ending I had got, i should have said contains spoilers so that is my fault but there isn't just one ending there is about 4 or 5 different ones. Someone commenting on it said thanks you ***** for the spoilers a trilogy games franchise ruined by a *******, it went on like that. When I first got the game I ended up readings spoilers by accident on a question but i didn't say anything as it was my bad for looking up about it before i finished, i didn't feel the need to call the person a tosser or throw verbal abuse at them. Also i think it is easier to take a question the wrong way by text or e-mail than it is face to face but on here i find people are more willing to shout abuse at you than ask you to extend what you mean. i think the worst out of order thing i came across was when a girl said she had a few guys mates that she got the bus with (they were all only 15 and it was the bus from school) she said they pinned her down and started groping her and eventually got off after about 5 mins when she was shouting at them to, she asked should she report it and most of the answer where along the lines of you slut, you probably led them on. I really despair at a lot of people on this, they seem like complete morons (there is a select few who take it seriously, or not so seriously if you know what i mean) but if everyone with a decent attitude left then it would make it worse. But as long as you know your not the only person on here that doesn't enjoy tormenting people. What I cant understand is what happened to the saying if you dont have anything nice to say then dont say it

You cant cancel your Y!A , as it the same log in as your email. You just stop coming here. You technically dont have an account on Y!A..just points. Altho, they can suspend you from using Y!A. I wouldnt attempt to get suspended. Some violations get you banned from using Y!A, but some violation ban your entire Yahoo ID. You wont have access to your email or other Yahoo webpages
