How can i respond to someones answer on yahoo answers?

Yahoo Answers is not designed to have a conversation. There is supposed to be a question and an answer. If someone does not understand the question they are supposed to skip it or try to email the asker. The asker of the question can add additional information to the question under the edit menu under the question. You are not supposed to directly converse with a person answering question. You must click on their avatar and see if they allow email. Many people will ask a question in their answer and the asker will respond in the additional information. That is technically not allowed and the question and answer can both be reported for a chatting violation. When the asker picks the best answer there will be a comment window where you can comment or give thanks for the answer. ℬ ℋ

You can use e-mail them or IM them. Or, you can add additional details to you're question which is the only closest way to actually "respond" back to someones answer. To do this go to you're question and underneath click on edit, then click on add additional details. Then you can say whatever you want, and if you want to say it specifically to someone, then when adding the details but @ then there user name . Hope This Isn't too confusing!

Y!A is not a chat room. It is a knowledge-seeking site in a question & answer format. You have three options: You can go to the user's profile & see if they accept IMs and/or emails. If so (and you allow them too) you can contact them that way. You can make 'comments' when you pick your Best Answer. You can use the 'add details' function to add additional information to make your question more complete or understandable. Be careful what you add though, you don't want to have your question reported as a chatting violation. :o)

You edit it. Are you on mobile? Probably. So go on desktop, go to your question, and there are a few options. When you edit it, it adds on additional details.
