What is wrong with my YA account?

YA deleted my old YA level 7 account for no reason and refuses to re-instate it until there is an "open window

  • " to "manually fix the problem". Sounds like another way of saying "we are not going to fix the problem, so forget it"....As for the new reporting system, it doesn't fix what injustices were done under the old system, so I guess it really doesn't pay to try to answer questions well and get a lot of best answers when YA can delete your account with no violations even when you are a top answerer in one category. What do you think? They should fix the old problems before starting a new system if they really have any idea what customer service and customer information security is all about.

    I agree with you, i'm heading for a ban with all the trolls in the V&V section. The new system plainly does not work, they say "if one or more reliable people report....the question will get removed"...this is clearly not true. It seems to me they have given up on applying any resources to the system in favour of a failing automated experiment. You do have to wonder just how many staff Yahoo have on this system. To be honest, i think i could trawl all the sections in a few hours and identify the trolls manually . Yahoo don't do this, they rely on us to report ( and susequently ignore most reports ). I think I'm saying i believe Yahoo have much less than 1 full time person policing this whole system worldwide. We've been had, Yahoo fail to do what they say they will do. All they want in our traffic for thier advertising revenue. If its made up of trolls and us denoucing them, they are probably still happy..."traffic is traffic" to thier statistics. EDIT: I've just noticed my "best answers" in my TC category has gone from 150 to 44 overnight.....what a crap system

I think there is more going on here in regards to that. They still seem to be just as unconcerned about bogus violations

I know the feeling (kind of.) I got my top contributor badge taken, even though I am at 43% BA, 2nd on my top 10 list. I also have had a couple of my things deleted while my reports for people flat out swearing at askers remained. All this happened once I turned Level 6. I only received the generic replies as well. Maybe I will join you at level 0 soon? :) EDIT- Thanks for asking. I slowed down a bit, but still kept contributing. I also maintained my percentage and had some best answers floating my way. Since then I have gotten a ton more... still no badge. I heard of it coming and going for people with 14-20%, but never with 43%. It just started happening around the time I had some valid questions and answers deleted, and had my reports ignored. I am sorry about your account. I hope they get off their butts and fix it soon. Just keep emailing them, and maybe you will get someone who is willing to do something about it. Good luck! :)

I'm sorry you got deleted but then I've heard a lot of level 7's get deleted. Right now Yahoo is encouraging people to report others for any infraction of the rules. This will turn the site into an Us v them site as reasonable people are urged on to report, report. I won't play that game.
