Violation Question?

How could I have asked this question better without receiving a violation?

  • I received a violation (and my appeal was denied & I lost 20 pts) for this question I had asked: "POLL: What is your favorite shape for CHOCOLATE?" and in the Additional Details, I listed different shapes of chocolate to give people an idea of what shapes chocolate comes in...this is what I remember posting for choices: Easter eggs Santa Claus Easter bunny The avatar above you Bar-shaped Why do you think I received a violation? Is it because I included "the avatar above you" as a choice for shapes (I included this choice in case the avatar was a picture of a food item or a shape the person would like chocolate to be). It was NOT an avatar game, obviously. Can you not use the word "Avatar" any more as part of a question? And NONE of the answers to this question choose an avatar as a shape for chocolate anyway. People gave straightforward answers. So I'm really confused as to how my question could violate anything. What's wrong with asking what shape of chocolate people prefer? Thanks.

im at a loss myself as to whats called chatting..to me it was a question...... but i notice some people have POLL: before a question,im not sure if that helps. edit..oops..im sorry..i never saw that you already had Poll there.. i find its the extra comments that can cause a violation.......must class that as chat, not sure why ,becacause they have that area there for more details...

Leave off all the choices and add "and why". Definitely leave off the avatar game aspect. It was a low quality poll/chat.

I think that would come under chatting.

they nothing wrong in any question I think it has to do with how peoples mind runs anymore' make no difference who they are and etc. No one is perfect, No NOT 1;

First, outside of the poll category it would be chat. Even in the poll category, the avatar game makes it a violation. If you wanted to ask in a factual way, ask for example "What is the most popular shape for a chocolate at Easter? Examples include Easter Bunny, Easter Eggs, etc"
