Yahoo Answers challenges Google Answers. Which one will win?
-
You've got two Answer services: one by Google and one by Yahoo. Google requires question askers to submit offers of payment to entice a Google researcher to answer. Yahoo offers no such body of specialized researchers and thus, does not collect money from question askers. With Google Answers, regular folks can comment, but arguably commenters have less incentive to provide quality responses than do people who answer questions at Yahoo Answers because Yahoo will give prizes for people who accrue high points. One attractive point about the Google system is that the act of charging a price to ask a question keeps both the number of questions down (because not everyone is willing to pay), possibly the overall quality of the questions high (because people probably would be less willing to pay to ask silly questions), and the quality of answers high (because they are "researchers"). My question is this: which site do you think is going to end up being more popular in the long run?

Answer:
I think Yahoo will be much better in the end. As it is simple. Simplicity some times makes a lot of difference in a product's success or failure.

Why are you worried who wins! As an user, you are benefitting. My bet is with Yahoo! - since it provides integerations with myweb as well as a rss feed.

It depends on what you are looking for. If you are asking for a quick, possibly unreliable answer, Yahoo. If you are however looking for a researched, 100% sure answer, Google. Just depends on which you need!
