What are a few college majors/careers suitable to shy people?

Why do people ask about their chances of getting into college or what college should I go to?

• I noticed that A LOT of people ask "What are my chances of getting into this university?" It's usually people that do great in school. I used to say to these people that they have a great chance of getting into a university but, I don't want to get their hopes up and they be rejected. HOWEVER, I also think that they could look at the university requirements or contact the university for questions like this. When I was applying to college, I called and emailed faculty at the university all the time. YET, people keep asking "what are my chances...?" and IT'S NOT THAT HARD TO GET THIS INFORMATION. Also, why do people ask "what college should they go to?" Whenever I see this question, I always think "If people tell you what college to go to, are you going to go to it?"

  They are nervous, confused and scared. They did not grow up as a faculty dependents of a university professors and a mother who was fourth generation or more teacher with master's degree and three semesters of medical school and Year at Tulane University as a physiology graduate student like I did.. They really do NOT understand that almost ALL universities, colleges and community ciolleges have web-sites and that just typing something like Art colleges Massachusetts into a serach engine will give them tons of information. I started college in August, 1971. EVERY summer trop that my parents and I had taken by car since i\I was ( years old usually included visits to the campus of colleges. THERE WAS NO INTERNET. Even in 1980, when I pplied to graduate shool , THERE WAS NO INTERNET.
