What qualifications do i need?

What qualifications do I need to be a Pilot? England only.?

  • I know I need a GCSE English, Maths and Science and I'm planning on getting my maths sometime soon. I have an A level in photography and an AS in art, what else do I need to get into studying aviation. Apparently you need A level in science and English? Can someone help me please? Don't say just get a license because I know you need to pay big money for one but that isn't the problem, I know you also need qualifications to be an airline pilot say flying an easy jet plane for example. Any advice?

    I would recommend A levels in Math, Physics and English - I assume you want to be an airline pilot...? Training takes 15-18 months in a flight academy - You should get (f)ATPL + MCC licenses - UK/CAA and JAR (EASA) - Also recommended - F/O qualification (type rating) on A-320 or B-737 - Expensive training - Stay away from FAA training in USA since you are from UK - Their training structure is completely different - And does not meet the requirements of UK and EU airlines - Have a look at Oxford Flight Academy to give yourself an idea - http://oaa.com/pages/training_courses/ab_initio/index.php

I dont know on gcses but you need 20/20 vision

Most of the pilots were in the RAF flying war planes or they were air stewards who then when to get their pilots licence but you are wasting your time as they are planning on making all planes computer controlled from a land area - this is true you can google it but if you are planning it through uni you will need a degree in English and Physics and probably need your ICAO Licence. Good Luck
