Airframe and Powerplant testing?

Can I still get my Airframe and Powerplant license?

  • I completed an airframe and powerplant mechanic school about 3 years ago but never got my license. Am I still able to test for it? Or do I have to go to school again first?

  • Answer:

You should be able to take your course completion documents to your local FAA FSDO office and get authorization to take the tests.

I am sure you are still eligible. If you have not pass your written test you may want to take a prep course to bring you up to date. After the written test you will need the oral and practical exam, and then you are there. Go to airframeandpowerplant.com, there is a link where you can submit a question to a Designated Mechanic Examiner (DME). He would be able to give you the official answer to your question. Good Luck

as long as you pass the test, you can get your A@P license. i think there is also an experience requirement as well, but check on that.
