What salary does pilot get? that's at their first month?

Answer:
To the smart-*** above: When everything is going smoothly, a pilot may be little more than a glorified bus driver. But that's not what they're paid for. They are paid for their knowledge and ability to work out sticky problems and get people back on the ground in one piece. When you have a double engine flameout in a 777 at 35,000 feet over the middle of the Pacific Ocean, who do YOU want at the controls? Ralph Kramden? No thanks!

Regional Airline Pilots these days are usually starting at $20,000... if they are lucky... 24,000... The majors start at about 50,000 and go up to about 150,000 or in rare cases 180,000 or so... Edit: I take quite a bit of offense to Mark's comment below mine. I have never made a comment like this one but what you said, I am probobly over reacting to... The fact is, without pilots, mechanics dont have a job... without mechanics, pilots dont have a job... therefore, we need eachother... and for one to say the other is under or overpaid is wrong... they get paid what they get paid, and they like it or they wouldnt do it... Pilots make more because they spend more on training... mechanics, while no school is "cheap" spend lots less than pilots.... a pilot is lucky to get out of school with a bill less than $100,000, in fact, I dont know any recent graduates that say they spent less than that... How many mechanics spend 100,000 in school to go make $10-15 thousand (flight instructing) and than $20,000 being a (regional pilot)? None. The bus driver comment is just stupid, I dont think you are really a mechanic but if you are, that is like me saing you are no more qualified to service an airplane than the average guy off the street, and that isnt very well... Lets put a bus driver behind the controlls and see how they do on their first flight...

The answers about the airlines are correct, but you dont just get a job with a big carrier. Most pilots begin as a flight instructor making around $10,000 a year so they can build enough hours to be hired by an airline. SO per month you might expect $800...ouch.

truth be known, just enough to pay rent in the cheapest apartments in town and Roman noodles for chow for the first few years. Unless you go into the military to fly, then the begining pay is not bad.

It differs from Airline to Airline.

Too much for what is basically a bus driver. Mechanic's are what keep them up stair's and should be paid more.
