Where can I get a "kick start" on Aircraft Electrical and Environmental Systems?

I recently enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and just received my job. I'll be what they call an E&E or Aircraft Electrical and Environmental Systems apprentice. I have a whole year before I go to basic and I have an obsession with aviation. So as an interest I would like to familiarize my self with these systems on smaller general aviation aircraft such as a Cessna or Piper. I'm asking just to see what is recommended. I know you asked about smaller aviation aircraft but this has always been a great link for me; http://www.smartcockpit.com You can download training manuals from several larger aircraft small and large. Give it a try. For smaller aircraft, many flight schools have the schematics posted online. A simple search for Cessna 172 schematic will do the trick. Good luck!
