Weight of cargo of fedex truck & Airplane used for shipping?
-
I'm trying to figure out the total weight of the cargo carried by: 1) a fedex truck (other shipping companies are fine too, but fedex preferred) and 2) An airplane used for shipping packages (preferred Airbus A340-600) any information is appreciated! Thanks!

Answer:
Why don't you call Fedex and leaned it first hand. As far as the aircraft didn't know they use A346, all I know is their A310.

I can give you an estimate. The double trailers you see on the highway weigh about 40,000lbs each, 80,000 for the pair, that includes the weight of the trailers. An MD-11, the largest plane FedEx flies can carry about 202,000lbs, that's just the cargo, The whole thing, aircraft, fuel and cargo is about 625,000lbs.
