What's the medical or physical requirement for aircraft avionics employee?

Avionics Tooling in Aircraft Manufacturing?

  • Do you have a lists of avionics tooling needed in aircraft manufacturing?

  • Answer:

As indicated by the other respondents, it is dependent on how complicated an aircraft you are going to manufacture. So there is a big difference between manufacturing the likes of a BOEING B777 and a basic trainer, with limited instrumentation. If you have a specific aircraft type usually the repair manual will list the tools required to maintain it. With the very complicated commercial airliners some of the electronic equipment requires extremely expensive computer based equipment that is well outside of the realms of the average persons financial ability. Many of the instruments you are talking about are used in the certification of the aircraft and as such will be required to be calibrated, the cost of this on a private individuals equipment, is such that it is usually not a viable proposition and hence usually supplied by the employer. Sorry if this sounds a little vague, but it is a bit of a question of how long is a piece of string?

most factories supply the tools but if your doing repair work it depends on what type. are you thinking structure or A&P, avionics or interiors? there are to many variables but if you get a job somewhere they all have a minimum tools list that they will supply you. like i said most (including lockeed martin, northrop gruman, and boeing) provide the needed tools

Respectfully, this is an unanswerable question. During the construction of the Boeing 777, thousands of machines are used during the entire manufacturing process. That number may be low. I worked in a machine shop that did machining operations for brake components for the F-15 and F-18 fighters. We also did machining operations for a brake component for the Boeing 747. One horizontal Cincinnati CNC machine center and one Warner & Swasey 3SC CNC chucker (lathe without a tail stock) were used for the machining operations. Again, there is no way to list all the machining equipment needed to make a modern aircraft.
