  • How to become an airline pilot smoothly . I wanted to be a pilot my whole life , ever since i went on a twin otter when i was 4 , i was certain that i wanted to be a pilot . I would pressure my dad everyday to take me to the local airport to watch planes,.ANd now iam 16 and the dream still lives in me , i don't care about the money . But i just wanna fly , i will be attending a local flight school soon . i wanna become an airline pilot , how do i become an f/o fast , i dont wanna be 50 when i become captain . i know i need a college degree, but i wanna become a first officer when iam in my 20's is it possible. And can i get a job with an airline(regional) that operates to my country without moving to another country, i live in the caribbean/south-america.

    Determination will get you far. Money will get you further, that's how it works in becoming a Pilot. I recommend, based on the looks of your intelligence, you aren't set out for the air force. So start saving 80 thousand and try to get 3000 hours. Do this through a private flying school. You will most likely need to relocate to another state/country. If you really love flying you'd be willing to do that. This occupation will really test you. Start flying lessons or atleast learn some theory now. Pray and Good luck. --Daniel.

Well, you guys cannot even read the question and introduction - He is from the Caribbean/South America - Meaning - his Air Force has C-150/172 Top-Gun fighters - Señor Klein - you want to be a pilot since age 4...? Yesterday, I read one other "future captain" who wanted to be pilot since age 3 - Continue dreaming... Maybe you will serve tourists at the nearest restaurant - Big tips, with the gringos - If you want a CPL - go to USA, and you can get a licence for $40,000 or so -

There are schools where you can major in this. The University of North Dakota (USA) comes to mind. In the US, another way is to become a military pilot first, and afterward it's pretty easy to get an airline job.
