How can I change my flight date?

I am going to Hong Kong with 2 of my friends in June. We're planning to go to Taipei too. Our ticket is from 6/6/10 to 7/31/10. We will be departing from Taipei at 7/31/10. But just recently, I found out that I have a mandatory orientation to go to for my college on 7/23. Can I leave Taipei 2 weeks earlier? I know there must be a fee. Do I change it at the Taipei airport, or do I change it at SF? I'm so confused. please help!
