  • I'm 15 i live in England and i really want to be either a search and rescue helicopter pilot or a air ambulance pilot, my questions are. Do i have to join the RAF or the Royal Navy or the Army. Do i need GCSE's or A levels. What is the process of becoming a air ambulance pilot or a search and rescue pilot. I have perfect 20/20 vision and according to the eye doctor guy it's better than 20/20! I really don't want to join the RAF or the royal navy/Army to become a pilot. What qualifications if any do i need How much flying hours do i need and any more information would be great!

  • Answer:

The fact is, that to get the best helicopter pilot training, it is the RAF or RN - So when you seek civilian employment, they prefer ex-military pilots - And you get better experience as well - For the RAF or RN, you need GCSE and "A" levels - This includes mathematics and physics -
