  I don't think your going about this the right way. If you really want to be an airline pilot, I would suggest contacting a college or institution that offers flight traing. They can give you all the information you want. You will need a four year degree, plus about 1000 hours of flight time before you will even be considered for an interview. I think your idea for having a mentor is great but your not going to get one over the internet. Once you start working on getting your private, you will meet people of all sorts in the aviation industry from airline pilots to air traffic controllers. Talk to as many people as you can so you can form connections into the airlines. I'm sorry if this information discourages you, but it takes ALOT of work and money to be an airline pilot. Good luck.
