Can you use the reverse thrusters mid air in the modern airliners?

Hey guys, was wondering if it is possible for a pilot to deploy reverse thrusters mid air and btw do aircrafts like Arbus A320 and Boeing 737-800 support something of this sort? I do know about it's usage when an aircraft lands but what if we activate it mid air to reduce the air speed of the aircraft? Thanks a lot!!!

The airliner able to use reversers (do not say "reverse thrusters") in flight, is the DC-8 airplanes (all models) - Only the inboard reversers can be used - The DC-8 cannot use their spoilers in flight, so the inboard reversers are their "thrust brakes" - When on the ground, the 4 reversers can be used to slow the airplane - The Ilyushin IL-62 can also use the inboard reversers in flight - On other airplanes, the accidental deployment of a reverser in flight, requires an emergency procedure to stow the reverser - If unable to stow a reverser in flight, that engine must be shut down - .

Nope, reverse thrusters or trust reversals are only used while landing. To decrease the speed of a plane dramatically at mid air is to use the speed brakes. The speed brakes is located at the wings of the plane and it will increase the drag and reduce the speed (And altitude too since the aerodynamics of the aircraft is changed). A320 and B737 have reverse thrusts but the engine type will determine the methods of thrust reversal.
