• Emirates had recently started the A380 service to my my city, Toronto. But was only allowed three weekly flights. Singapore airlines dont even have a chance. But do any ofyou know the exact reason why this is happening. And why singapore airlines does not operate to vancouver anymore? I know that air canada is complaining about it but i dont know why, I mean air canada doesnt even have service to singapore OR dubai, respectivle southest asia and middle east. So whats the big impact on air canada if singapore airlines a emirates have flights from/to toronto and vancouver daily? Thanks.

  That is a bilateral agreement between two countries, i mean you fly to me, I fly to your country if they're both IATA members. Maybe in the case of Singapore or SQ flights one of their co-tie-up airline is already flying to Canada and if SQ flies too then he is outsmarting the agreement. Until now going to Asia or Middle East isn't profitable to Air Canada but on the other hand is profitable to SQ or Emirates. I think Air Canada is just studying what profitable route or airports to take in Asia & Middle East. As soon as he does have and flies that route expect the countries where he lands will be landing also in Canada.
