Airframe and Powerplant testing?

Where does a DME for Airframe and Powerplant mechanics get his questions from?

  • Im trying to take my Airframe and Powerplant Test, I want to be prepared for the Oral and Practical test. I was wondering if DME's had a certain guide to follow.

  • Answer:

DME's certainly have a guide to follow, just as you do in preparing for the test. The Oral & Practical is composed of 43 different subjects, divided into sections by General, Airframe, and Powerplant. Here's a link to all 3 standards as published by the FAA: http://www.faa.gov/mechanics/testing/practical/

No # 1 if you don`t know ,don`t try to bull crap your way . Tell them you will go to the proper manual and research it. They want to see if you have the proper paper work to perform the job

The answer to your question is The FAA. There are a couple of sites below that might help you. Best of luck!

It should be in back of the A&P test guide. Each test guide will have the types of questions the examiner will ask.. I took the exam in '96 using the ASA books. They were in there.
