How to prevent ears popping on airplanes?

  • Every time I go on an airplane, on take off and landing, my ears start popping uncontrollably. I have tried plugging my nose and pushing pressure on my ears, I have tried drinking, and I have tried chewing but all of these only work occasionally. I have heard of a product called EarPlanes but I am not sure if they work. Is there any other ways to prevent this?

Swallow and yawn. When I say yawn it doesn't have to be a legitimate yawn just open your mouth really wide. Oh and do it everytime you start feeling the pressure to constantly clear it out.

Cheezzzy

Anything that equalizes the pressure, such as drinking through a straw, sucking on something, yawning, or popping your jaw should help.

The Damn Mushroom

You can try ear-plugs and put something into your mouth in which you can chew or drink water.

Ricky Nai

Just try and yawn.
