How to grow mushrooms in compost?

• i would like to start growing some button/ portabella mushrooms with the compost and worm castings I have, but don't know where to start. I hear that to grow lots of mushrooms one needs spores, a pressure cooker, and other things which I don't have the money for! What is the easiest way to grow mushrooms using compost?

Find a dark, damp area, like a cellar or basement to keep your compost free from sunlight and excessive heat. Water the top of the compost daily to keep it moist. Break the mushroom spawn into golf ball sized pieces and plant them 10 inches apart, 2 inches deep into the compost.
