What kind of plant is this?
-
We have a potted house plant, which we originally had indoors when we lived in New York. Now we live in Florida and it has prospered. I would like to find out what kind of plant this is. The leaves are somewhat thick and flat (like a sword). The leaves taper to a point and are somewhat brittle. The leaves radiate from the center of the plant like a fan, all on the same plane, edge to edge. A second tier of leaves has grown behind the original tier of leaves which totaled 14 for as long as we have had the plant. Now two of the leaves have these flat pods about 2/3 up the leaf and emergining from the edge of the leaf in a vertical position. The plant has never flowered in over ten years, we dont't know if it does flower or not, and this is the first time ever that it has developed the pods.
