What are plant growth enhancers?

Light intensity and plant growth?

  • I would have thought if there was more light, there would be more photosynthesis. This would mean there would be more glucose, for more respiration, for more energy and growth. So wouldn't this mean increasing light intensity increases plant growth? But, auxin concentrate on the darker side of a plant and cause cell growth, and if there is no light then this means less auxin is produced and so the plant grows less. So which is it?

  • Answer:

More light helps it grow faster up to a point. Less light causes elongation but not as much actual growth. It really depends on the plant. Some will stretch way out to try and find light more than others.
