What can I test about seed germination?

I am doing a project where i have to test which of the following elements is going to effect seed germination?

  • the elements are nitrogen , phosphorus and potassium, so i have got these three elements and added some seeds in it with some normal soil i ahve to predict wht is going to happen and hand in to my teacher does any one know which one is going to be the fastest it will be greatit you can tell me which is the first and last with reason, but the main thing i need is which one of them is going to be the fastest

  • Answer:

generally, nitrogen promotes the fastest growth... particularly in the first part of the plants growth cycle. Plants use nitrogen to produce their green parts, and the primary purpose of a seedling is to produce as many green leaves as possible to create the energy to produce flowers and fruit later... potassium is used by the plant primarily to produce flowers and fruit.

Most seeds sprout the root first , so I'd guess phosphorous ,if anything .But that could also be too much of a good thing . If I had to bet on it , I'd say "None of the Above " would be more effective than the other. It could even be that the winner is the least inhibitive of the three. ???Only way to know is to try it .
