Does increased carbon dioxide (co2)affect the growth of plants?

• i am doing this experiment for a science fair project: does increased carbon dioxide affect the growth of plants? i was wondering if someone had already done this experiment or a similar experiment like this.. and if they could share their results with me.. please tell me what type of plant you used and how much carbondioxide (co2) you used.

  I have not done this experiment, but I looked at a couple of articles online about this topic. The article cited below says that C3 plants could have an increase of about 25% in the rate of photosynthesis, but that there isn't much of an effect on C4 plants because they are already quite efficient. The article says that corn is a C4 plant, so you wouldn't want to use that. Be sure to look at the article because it reminds you that the plant will also need extra nutrients and water and that there's a saturation point beyond which the rate will not increase.
