The stamen

Smleh

The pistil or stamen of a flower holds the stigma which is slightly sticky. This stigma will accept pollen from the pollen sacks, the yellow sacks in the middle of a flower. The stigma is the female; the polon is the male. When pollen is taken from the sacks and touched to the stigma, the flower is fertilized. Seed develop in the ovary.
