Which leaf shape predominates in rainy regions? Explain?

Is the shape of a tobbaco leaf or a banana leaf related to it's function?explain?

  • Answer:

Pretty much the shape of leaves of plants are related to their functions or to the adaptation to their environments. Leaves of desert plants are usually reduced to small sizes to reduce water loss. In the case of tobacco leaves, their shapes are adapted to high levels of light because they grow in open fields quite well. Banana leaves are waxy and long in part because they need to conserve water and direct water into their herbaceous stems. Herbaceous plants can have critical water retention problems because of the nature of their tissue organization.
