How do mushrooms breathe?

How can I tell if a magic mushrooms is fake (fake , I mean by just any ordinary mushrooms that wil kill me)?

  • Okay, so I'm planning to consuming Magic Mushrooms & not to be racist at all, but in the area where I live, which happens to be a border town (next to Mexico), is very cheap. There's a lot of cheap people here & I want to buy some Magic Mushrooms but I'm afraid the person who will sell them to me will be cheap enough to just pick up any poisenous mushroom off the ground & I will end up DEAD! I really need lots of help. I need to know what a fake mushrooms looks like & a real actual Magic mushrooms looks like, please. I don't feel that safe with Mushrooms because they could be fake - and LSD, if it's fake at least I won't die, but where I live around they don't sell LSD (we're too poor to be dealing with those type of drugs). Anyway, just send me links of photos, give me positive tips, etc. And please, no stuff like "you shouldn't be doing drugs at all!", all right, thanks!

    Do some research. Find out which mushrooms grow where you are and when (season) and then see if you can find them yourself. Be sure of what you pick though. As a rough guide most if not all psilocybe mushrooms bruise blue on the stem when handled. Its a dark grey blue. And also they will gave a brown tan coloured cap. I find them here in Australia in the mountains growing in Autumn after rain. There are many varieties that are psychedelic but I only can identify the ones that grow here where I am. If you have never taken hallucinogens before start with a small dose. They are very powerful and can be overwhelming if you have a large dose. On the other hand they are very interesting and quite safe. Remember bluish stems gold caps and start small and when you find them a new world will open up to you. Be safe. The mind can not be underestimated.

why don’t you just be safe and grow your own that way you know they are safe, Google it, it is really not that hard, because magical shrooms can normally be identified by squeezing the stem and it should go brown in a minute or two and if it doesn’t then it is fake...

As a person who did plenty of drugs during his misspent youth and lived to tell about it, I will not tell you not to do drugs. As a person who has hunted wild mushrooms for many years, I will tell you that without becoming very adept at identifying mushrooms, you will not be able to be sure about what you buy. I can give you a few of their characteristics, but they are not definitive and can be misinterpreted. Also, there are a number of different species. If you can't trust the person you are dealing with not to poison you, you should not be ingesting anything that person sells to you. You will have many opportunities in your life to try magic mushrooms, if that's what you want to do. Wait until you can trust your source.

Basically there is NO WAY to tell if what you are swallowing is a 'magic mushroom' or not. Not unless you're a pretty good biochemist with the right set of lab equipment and knowledge. It's a bit like asking 'how do I know my cocaine hasn't been cut with baking soda?'. Oh and incidentally you shouldn't be taking drugs anyway.

well since you live near mexico then i guarantee the mushroom your getting in psilocybe cubensis, all you need to do to find out if its real or fake is find out what species it is and then look it up on google and look at pictures to make sure thats what it really is, but im sure whatever he gave you wont kill you, and you should take some pictures of what he sold you, and post them in another question, ill be able to tell you if there safe or not. But you should look up psilocybe cubensis and compare it with what he sold you, and next time you should always ask for what type of mushroom it is.
