What do these plant hormones do?

Do plant hormones that increase growth also cause the plant to take up more nutrients from the soil?

  • I'm having a hard time finding any kind of sources for this question. I'm writing a paper on phytoremediation and thought that if a plant is induced to grow faster, it might take up metals (Zn, Ni, Mg) more quickly if it is also taking in more soil nutrients. Does increased growth increase nutrient requirements, nutrient uptake, and therefor uptake of metals?

  • Answer:

Logically- I think it Would. How could it just take up Some Nutrients- and not all the stuff embedded IN Them ?!
