Salt of a Strong Base and a Weak Acid. pH of solution?

Acid and Base Questions?

  • I have a few questions about acids and bases (a simple, straightforward answer would be appreciated, i don't need much detail). If you can't answer all, it is fine. Thanks! Can you have a strong but dilute solution of an acid or base? What is a salt?(In the sense of pH, ect..) What is the difference between strength and concentration? Why might you use the pH scale? (What are some practical uses at home, etc.)

  • Answer:

A salt can be either, Its a compound made up of a metal and non metal element. Strength and concentration are essentially the same thing, Though concentration is the appropriate scientific way of saying it. To make a volcano :) (Base + acid) Baking soda + vinegar The pH scale at home can tell us which things might be dangerous to touch (Strong acids or base) as well as which things are in the edible range. If the vinegar gets too acidic it can cause stomach damage.
