Best plant to use for science experiment?
-
I'm doing a science project to observe the different factors which affect the uptake of water by a plant. What is the best plant to use in this situation? Nothing too big or too expensive.

Answer:
I would use a fuchsia or monkey flower( Mimulus species ) as both use plenty of water. If you can't find those there, call a knowledgeable nursery to help you out. That way you can tell much quicker how fast water usual is as opposed a plant that does not use much water. temperature and humidity will be your first factors. Also ask bog plants. Don't know you are doing this inside or outside. So you need an indoor plant or outdoor plant.
