How do you play water polo?

Should they start learning how to play water polo?

• there's these girls that are going to become sophomores in september. they want to join the water polo team in august, but they have no experience with the game. they're on the swim team right now, and they're planning to do water polo in the upcoming fall. they asked me for advice, but i didn't know what to say because they're all new to it and water polo looks really rough. im afraid they'll get hurt, but should they join? they're going to be sophomores who will join with no experience. i'm afraid they'll get kicked and scratched and just hurt, basically. and should they go out and buy some thicker swimsuit? i'm curious cause i don't know anything about this sport. any tips, suggestions, rules, safety, technique you know tell me thanks.

  Absolutely. It is good that they are already swimmers so that gives them a jump start. Tell them to find a summer league and join that. Water polo is so much fun, I'm sure they will enjoy it. Height and weight do not matter to much but they might want to gain some muscle. I'm sure the summer league coach will help out. if you can't join a summer league then I would just try and watch some games on youtube and look up the rules on the web. GL =)
