What kind of snowboard should I buy?

Does it matter what kind of burton snowboard wax i buy?

  Okay, so here's the thing. I don't know if you're an experienced rider or not, I'm assuming that you're not, but generally you're going to want to wax your board every 1-4 times you go out, depending on your habits, and especially lots if you ride hard. Burton's wax is hella expensive, so unless you're rolling in the dough, forget about that and hike your butt to your closest local safeway/co-op/superstore and go to the section where you find supplies for canning goods. Here there should be boxes of a little (not so) secret weapon called PARAFFIN WAX or Mixed Paraffin Wax for cheap cheap cheap. I use paraffin to hot wax my board about every 3 times I go out or so (you can find instructions on how to hot-wax on the web, and I've also thrown some into my links, so hit that up). Then I buy this stuff called deo-wax (which is basically like a deoderant-type stick of rub on wax) that I hit up right before I ride if I feel I need it, just to smooth out some of the kinks. Burton has the deo-wax too but it's more expensive and disguised under the name Rub-down wax. There's also tons more of this stuff under different names so shop around! If you feel the need to go with SOME KIND OF Burton wax, hit up the Paraffin for the inital waxing and the Rub-Down for later days. This way you'll save TONS of money, therefore enabling you to get yourself more lift tickets therefore enabling yourself to shred more! If you find that you absoulutely for whatever weird reason MUST have snowboard wax, lay off on the Burton and shop around because you can find equally as good wax for cheaper. Besides, most wax has the same or close to the same ingredients as my good friend paraffin. Soon enough you'll find what works and what doesn't.
