Can I use a windsurfer as SUP?
-
I was wondering if I could use a 14 f. O'Brien Sensation as a stand up paddle board. I would use it to just cruise around on a lake, for some exercise. Thank you for your help.

Answer:
I think the only problem you might have is with not having some kind of skeg at the aft of the board. You can always load the centerboard to prevent side slippage, but when using it as a windsurfer the sail and rig counter balance the slippage in the back. I guess the only thing you could do would be to try it and see, but you'll probably have to stand further aft and try to compensate for the lack of a rudder or skeg with the paddle. I think it's going to try to rotate around the centerboard.
