How can I get involved in the sport of Skeleton Racing?

After discovering the sport from watching the Winter Olympics I've had a huge urge to actually try it, at least once. I know it's kind of a stab in the dark but does anyone have any experience with Skeleton or related Olympic events such as bobsledding and luge? Some of the answers I am looking for is the expenses of being able to use a toboggan track, how much training is required before attempting your first run, and what type of physical attributes are most favorable for toboggan track related sports.
