Are Youngstown Winter Work Gloves suitable for use whilst sailing?

It depends. Im an active sailor and prefer gloves without fingers because they provide easier knot tying. I suggest bicycle gloves, they are a favorite or fingerless rowing gloves. The biggest thing you need is grip and good when soaked, also light.

Another issue to consider is color bleeding of the cloves, I run a sailing school out of Chicago and whenever a student show's up with gloves that I don't regongnize we will do a color bleed test, nothing worse than getting dye all over white gel coat, worse than red wine! You can pick up some good sailing gloves for under $20.
