Where do Brown Trout go during ice over?

Ice fishing is over and it's almost time to catch some spring brown trout--anyone else ready...?

• ...to get out on the lake? I have the battery charged on the boat and I'm ready to troll for brown trout as soon as the ice is off the launch ramp. Does anyone else go out for early fish on the Great lakes? Let's hear some stories to get fired up for a great fishing season.

  when I was married, one of our favorite weekend activites was going to Lake Erie - in the spring for walleye and in the fall for perch. We didn’t have a boat, so we would go out on one of the head boats. BIG fun! and an easy way to fish. I am going to try to figure a way to get up there the summer - no one in my family fishes besides me, so I am going to have to force someone to go. Do you fish Erie? Ever go out of Port clinton? If you get over that way - make sure you go to Mayhues in the morning - they open at 4 am and have the best homemade dougtnuts. Walleye fishing - erie dearies - green and white - I go out on the Irish Drifter - the "deck hand" won't net sheephead - are the lakes still overrun with them and those darn zebra mussels? Oh, i am so jealous of you!
