The Air bubbles in fondant icing?

Do i repair tiny air bubbles under the glass of my surfboard?

  • In the tail area of my swallow tail surfboard, through the glass you can see tiny air bubbles, 1cm x 1 cm to 2cm x 2cm tops. There are maybe 3 - 4 of them spread out. Only 1 of these air bubbles seem to move when i press down on it. It maybe a delamination, but no water got in and its not the area where my feet are pounding. I suspect the air bubbles got there during the lamination process. Any suggestions on how to fix this?? Some people say use a syringe and fill the air bubble. What I am planning to do is to cut the area open, fill with sun cure, sand, paint then glass 1 6oz cloth on it. Please help, should i leave these air bubbles alone until it cracks open or should i repair it as early as now? I only used this surfboard 2 times. Board is hand shaped using foam from Australia and Porcher fiberglass. The paint is pigmented. Its a 5'8 POD imitation.

  • Answer:

Can you return the board to the shop or factory? Read the guarantee. As a practical matter you may simply leave it the way it is. Repair: remove the damaged area and re-glass it. Air bubbles are usually a sign that the resin was not completely cured.
