Would a zap wedge large be a good skimboard to ride waves with?

Should I get a Zap skimboard or DB skimboard?

• I live in Washington, and I want to get a new skimboard. I want to get either the Zap Wedge Large or a Pro DB skimboard. Washington is mainly flatland, but I want to be able to go into the waves like I go to Hawaii or something. Can the Zap Wedge go on flatland and waves? Which one should I get? I skimboard on Longbeach.

  I would go with the zap skim board. I am not an expert on DB skim boards but i believe that they make good boards too. I say zap because i have 3 zap skim boards and have and never have had any problems with them. They are really good quality boards. I have a 45" zap medium wedge that is rated for up to 120lbs and i have ridden it and had no problems and i am 160lbs (I really just wanted to test the quality and see if it would break cause i am 40lbs over the suggested weight limit). They make quality boards and are virtually indestructible. I also have a zap large wedge and and zap pro medium. They both are fantastic boards. I have used my large wedge in both flatland and waves. However I am not sure how the wedge would handle really big waves. It handles the smaller waves closer to shore just fine if that is what you are going to use it for... but i have never been to hawaii and really dont know how the waves are. If you have the money you could go with the zap pro medium and that would be able to handle the larger waves fine. I really cant tell you anything about db because I have not had any experience with them. Another good board company that you might want to look into is victoria. They make some really durable and light weight boards but can be on the costly side. Hope this helps and message me if you have more questions.
