Is it hard to learn how to surf?

  • Is it hard to learn how to surf?

  • Answer:

I think it's the hardest sport in the world. Yeah some people might be able to pick it up easily, but it takes a long time to get consistently good. Look at how long someone spends surfing. If you put that much time into ANYTHING else, you would be the world's best. But surfing takes so much time and effort to get it down. The learning curve is really really slow. That's just to answer your question, but it's also the most fun. So it's definitely worth it. Good luck

Yes!!! One of the more difficult sports to learn. You are going to need time, and you are going to be sore as hell. On the right small wave and a longboard you will have a blast. Don't go grab a shortboard and paddle out. Get a lesson and be patient.

yes. but anything worth doing is going to be difficult at first. be patient, have fun, dont get in any expirenced surfers way, dont paddle out to the main peak, and don't expect to be andy irons over night.

it is extremely difficult - I am a good athlete and I have tried to surf and for whatever reason I can't get both feet on the board at the same time - I tried for awhile but I am an impatient soul - good luck

Nope. Get with some good waves and a good teacher and you'll be up and riding in no time. It DOES take time to learn to do some of the fancy stuff, but the basic surfing is fun and easy. Enjoy!
