I did something really bad and now i need help please help me.

SOmething bad that happened to me during scubadiving.. please read.. i need help.?

  • ok well ive been scubadiving for a while until a day whenever i went scubadiving from my dad. i was underwater and after like fifteen minute dive underwater at 45 feet with 2100 air left, my regulator popped out of my mouth. i panicked. i didnt knwo wat to do. i put the regulator back in my mouth but for some reason it "felt' like i couldnt breathe from it. so i threw it to the side and i held my breath and went up reallyf ast. i dont know how i didnt die but i lived. air kept on coming up and i kept choking on it but it went away and i was fine. (this was 4 months ago) but like a month or two after that incident, i started getting anxiety disorder and also post traumatic stress disorder. i made myself feel like **** everyday. like i always thought somethign bads going to happen so i also breathed heavily and fast and i always made mysefl feel 'unreal' and crap and i always cried and complained to my panrets everyday for like four months that soemthing bad was going to happen. but one day i got over it but i still ahve alittle anxieety. i worry here and there. but i think theres something wrong with my head (physically) like it always hurts and crap and it wont go away. and my chest hurts all the time. i always breahte funky and wierd and feel bad and i get sick of it. my family spent like overf 20 000 dollars on CAT scans and MRI's to see if im fine. all the doctors say im fine. they only scanned my chest but what about my head? it there any side effects of almost dying from decompression sickness? like i went up to fast. does that give me a long term problem forever? is the pain in my head from the accident? and how can i stop breathing funky and making mywefl feel like ****? please help.

Sounds like anxiety attacks. Post-traumatic stress disorder. Im not a doc, so my best advice is to go and see one since you were already checked physically.

There is a lot here 1) Its good that you are getting help for the post traumatic stress. It is obvious you are having some of those symptoms. 2) You were not at risk of decompression illness even with a rapid accent from 45 feet after 15 minutes of diving. You were well inside the no decompression limits. 3) The only potential injury you faced was an over expansion of your lungs from holding your breath as you did an emergency ascent. However the choking feeling you described was your body regulating this and preventing your lungs from being damaged. 4) The risks of brain injuries from scuba diving comes from two possible causes, you aren't at risk for either. The first would be lack of oxygen, you would have gone unconscious before you would have damaged to your brain from lack of oxygen. The second possible way would be from bubbles in your blood from diving too long and coming up to fast, however you were well with in the no decompression limits, so a direct ascent, even if it was very rapid would not cause this to happen. 5) If the doctors cleared you chest and lungs you are fine and the only problems you are facing is how to come to grips with you life threatening experience. Remember psychological issues like depression and PTSD have physical effects on your body, cause anxiety attacks and feeling sick. Good luck, remember you did everything right in this situation and that you will recover fully. Don't dwell in the past and what could have been, instead look towards the future and what could be.

That happend to me too, You went up tooo fast! When your regulator pops out under water, you can stick it back into your mouth. You will feel as if you cannot breathe because you are in "shock". Some brain cells need to reorganize now, Just wait another 2 months, Took me a year. Good Luck, and sorry to hear about it :-(

Its all in your head...you need to stop thinking about what happened because that just makes it worse and worse. You are worrying yourself to the brink of destruction. The BEST thing you can do is be positive and I am sure you will be just fine. If the doctors say your good then that probably means all your pain and all the wierd things going on with your body became so bad because YOU made it like that, stop thinking negative, stop talking negative...the doctor says ure fine which means YOU ARE FINE.stop trippin balls
