Can I use a windsurfer as SUP?

Is this good gear for a beginning windsurfer?

  • http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/spo/1316650881.html http://www.the-house.com/aqref618zz-aquaglide-windsurf-rigs.html I am a 5'8", 125 lb, 17 yr old male who plans to use this gear for a while. I live in Holland, MI where the average wind speed is around 10 mph. I plan to start on a small, flat lake but move to Lake Michigan when I get better. I am also considering these boards: http://www.the-house.com/exssn89zzexocetspeedslidernext.html http://www.the-house.com/f2130pzzf2.html

  • Answer:

there's no way you could learn on a 112 or 130 (especially 112). After you've planed a couple times you could handle the 130, but if you're teaching yourself that won't happen for a while (took me a long *** time, believe me) anyway, stop asking questions here, its wasting your time, ask on iwindsurf.com and listen to the experienced people there (you'll learn more in one paragraph written by isobars than reading everything ever written here. keep in mind though that most of those old guys have forgotten what its like to learn, so they're arguing the theory of teaching people, which can get quite comical)
