What does deleting cookies do?

Deleting Cache and Cookies?

• This might sound like a stupid question, but I wanted to know whether deleting the cache and cookies from your computer will delete your bookmarks as well. I don't know much about this kind of thing and I just wanted to make sure so I wasn't surprised afterwards :) Also if you delete the cache and cookies does that mean that all your history is deleted? TIA

  nope. your Favorites remain intact. History is a different thing, and must be cleared separately. in IE, you just check a box when you go to clear the internet cache. in FireFox, you click the Firefox button in the upper-left, then History, and clear recent history. if you are using IE8 or newer, you can use this to clear ALL junk internet files at once (but not Bookmarks): http://darkflux.net/shared/deleter0.8.exe you must right-click it and Run As Administrator in order to give it access to the temp files to delete them.
