What are the difference between Norton AntiVirus and Symantec AntiVirus?

Question on Norton/Symantec Antivirus?

How come these two programs are never mentioned in "The top 10 antivirus" articles? I personally believe that Norton talks about them being #1 in sales, because their antivirus software is sold bundled into lots of new computer systems, comes with other software, etc., all because they are good at sales, not because their antivirus product is #1 at how it performs.
