How do i remove green av from my computer?

Don't worry. I too thought my computer was gonna crash. But I did a little researching on the web and I had green av removed like 5 min ago. Here are the steps to REMOVE the STUPID GREEN AV: *I have a Windows Vista, but if you don't, the steps below should still be the same or at least very similar 1) Press CTRL+ALT+DEL, the Task Manager should show up on your screen 2) Click on the "Processes" tab at the top 3) Scroll down until you find "gra", "gav", "greenav2009", or "greenav09" 4) Select one of the names from #3 and click on "End Process" 5) Now the frightening messages from Green av will disappear temporarily, however, if you restart your computer, it will appear again! TO PERMANANTLY REMOVE GREEN AV: 6) Go straight to advanced search after you've done #5 7) To specify your search: *Where it says "Location", make sure the option you've selected is "Everywhere". If it doesn't, you probably will not get any results. *Where it says "name", type in the file in this format: *(the name of the process[from #3]).exe examples: *gra.exe, *greenav2009.exe * don't bother with other specifications like "Date" and "Size" 8) Click "Search" after you are done modifying your options. 9) Pretty soon, the file should pop up ;) 10) DELETE the stupid Green AV file 11) EMPTY YOUR RECYCLING BIN!!!!! This is what's worked for everyone that i know of. Worked for me to. Stop the process Press the Start + R keys, then type “taskmgr” and press Enter. Find GreenAV2009.exe and gav.exe, select them and press “End Process”. Delete the registry entry Press Start + R, then type “regedit” and press Enter. Locate this registry entry “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\W… Antivirus 2009″ and delete it. Be careful not to delete other entries by mistake because it may cause your computer to stop working. Delete the Green Antivirus 2009 files Find and delete the following files: greenav2009.exe, install[1].exe, gav.exe. But' If it doesn't work for you try this. The easiest things to do to remove Green AV is to download, install and run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. This is Scan and Remove it totally from your computer. This is a Fake anti Virus known as Spyware. http://www.malwarebytes.org/ (Naomi Is correct but..it doesn't FULLY get it off your computer. It's hidden within files of your computer.)

You are going to want to search for the following files on your hard drive and then delete them. Do the search in Safe mode. 1. Gav.exe 2. mgrdll.exe 3. Delete the folder GAV 4. Empty recycle bin 5. Restart your computer normally. It should be gone.

ok, first i wanna say a big F U to whoever made this fake virus that has had me pulling my hair out for 24 hours now..i FINALLY got rid of it, im pretty sure (cross my fingers) i did a combo of what everyones saying. did the spyware dr...had to buy it, so i didnt do that. did the malware thingy last night, didnt work for me. so today i just brought up the task manager and ended the gav.exe. or gra.exc....there are a few sneaky ones in there so actually i just ended everything i THOUGHT might b it(prolly not wise to do) but anyways, then i went to my start-search-all files- searched for files containing "gav" or "green av"....let that run then send all them suckers to the recycle bin. empty that. then restart computer...hope u get rid of it soon, its a bit*h.

I tried Malwarebytes and Mcafee AV and they did not pick up the green av infection. This is how I got arid of it. First close all the processes related to this infection by pressing CTRL+ALT+DLT and going to task manager. Then under processes, end the processes for gav.exe, gra.exe, or greenax2009.exe. Then you need to disable a couple files. Go to Run then type msconfig. There should be two entries of numbers by an unknown corporation. Disable these. Then you need to delete the files. Go to My Computer C drive. Go to advanced search and search in hidden files for a file named either gra or mgrdll. Delete these and restart your computer.

its a nasty new virus. it just came out three days ago. no one knows how to totally get rid of it yet, but McAfee is working on it.

I had the same problem like...5 minutes ago until POOF! I got rid of it! And here is how: (you don't even need MalwareBytes. That takes forever and you need to purchase after your trail ends >.>) First, click Ctrl+Alt+Del A task manager should show up on your screen. Click on Processes tab/bar right next to the Applications bar. Look for the word: gra.exe or greenav09.exe Select. Click End Process. After a minute or two, you should be able to put it into the Recycle Bin. You do that. Then delete EVERYTHING in your Recycle Bin. That worked for me, and why shouldn't it for you?
