How do I clear my computer of all harmful viruses?

Will deleting a user account on my computer clear viruses?

• my family has a home computer with three user accounts on it. One user account has a bunch of viruses and what i'm guess is malware. But the administrative user (me) doesn't seem to be affected by the viruses, at least not yet. If I delete the user account and create a new one will it clear the viruses or at least some of it?
