Why can't I delete my history?

I cant delete my history tab? wats wrong? is it a virus?

  • i was surfing the net the other day on our computer (every one of us uses it) and as i was surfing looking for something many pop ups appear...some of them are "sexuall explicit"...my problem is, i know how to delete them put there is this one site that is so persistent that if i delete it (right click on it then delete), when i check again my history tab..its still there...how can i delete it...i mean..i dont want anyone seeing that kind of stuff here at out computer that most of us is using. I dont know wat it is..is it a virus? we do have an anti virus installed here and i double scanned it already and no virus found...but still the "site" is still there when i click the history tab. Also, i have used CCleaner already and it all deleted the temp files and cookies (including this particular site) BUT still, the name of the site appears on the history tab. Kindly help thanks!
